This started out as an exercise in voice leading (and a little bit of double-thumb shredding), using the changes to "Let the Sunshine In" as the base. That song is interesting. It was a radio hit behind "Age of Aquarius," and was treated as a feel-good, hippy vibe song. But in the context of the musical "Hair," the refrain isn't so much joyous, as it is hopeless and pleading. I used this frequently as a warm up, allowing it to grow and evolve.
