The fall of 1997 saw me transfer from the local community college to Western Michigan University. By school standards I was a junior, but in terms of growing up I was still a green-eyed freshman. I kept an electric bass in my dorm room and was frequently spotted working on solo tunes, writing down ideas in one of my many manuscript notepads. The melody had been sitting in one such notepad, eagerly waiting for the time to be fully formed. This is a love letter to that time of my life and the friends I made, most notably Todd & Rachel Brasher, Nicole Bach, Paul Hegegus and "Big" Mike Allen.
